Cyril Tarquinio
Prof. Cyril Tarquinio is Professor at the University of Lorraine, psychologist and psychotherapist for 25 years, he is the director of the Master’s program Clinical Psychology, Psychopathology and Health Psychology, which includes five specialized tracks at the University of Lorraine. He is also the deputy director of the INSERM Joint Research Unit 1319, INSPIIRE.
He is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Trauma and Dissociation and Associate Editor of the Annales Médico-Psychologiques (Elsevier). In France, he was the first to introduce academic research and university-level teaching in the field of EMDR therapy.
His current research focuses on the effects of childhood violence and its consequences on physical health (pain, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, etc.) in adulthood. His research interests also include the evaluation of psychotherapies in the treatment of victims and patients with chronic illnesses.
He is the author of numerous books published by Dunod for academics, professionals, and the general public (including Les maladies ne tombent pas du ciel, translated into many languages).
Finally, he is the founder and director of the Pierre Janet Center. In September 2020, he was awarded the title of Chevalier des Palmes Académiques by the University of Lorraine.
