An extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime journey awaits you.

Just picture it. Your morning starts with a cappuccino at a charming Milanese café. You make your way through elegant piazzas and historic streets, the glorious sun tickling your skin.

You feel refreshed. You feel focused. You feel ready to spend the day learning from one of the rare voices who can make the science of the brain, relationships, and development feel immediately relevant to your clinical work with children and young people.

This is where you will join Dr. Dan Siegel — Harvard-trained physician, former Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine, founder of the Mindsight Institute, and the mind behind Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindsight, the Window of Tolerance, and The Whole-Brain Child — for a transformative two-day workshop experience in Milan, Italy.

For clinicians around the world, Dr. Siegel's work has offered something rare: a clear, compassionate way to understand what's happening beneath behaviour, symptoms, and struggle.

This isn't just another continuing professional development event. It's an opportunity to answer the question:

How has this young person's mind developed…
and what does it need from me now to heal and grow?

If you've ever felt stuck with a young client…

You know how quickly child and adolescent work can become complicated.

A young person comes in with anxiety, shutdown, reactivity, aggression, perfectionism, identity confusion, school refusal, or emotional dysregulation…

While the symptoms are real and important, you can feel there is more happening underneath that needs to be addressed.

But with children and adolescents, the pressure to move fast is real…

Parents want answers before the young person has words for what they are experiencing, and schools want a plan before the full context is clear.

Suddenly, you're caught in the middle between finding a "solution" and addressing the underlying cause.

This is where you need more than another technique.

You need a way to see the whole developing mind — how the brain, body, relationships, identity, and life context are shaping what is happening now, and what kind of therapeutic relationship can help that young person move towards integration, resilience, and growth.

Who Should Attend

For clinicians like you who are ready to understand what's happening beneath the symptoms.

This workshop is for you if…

You work with children, adolescents, young adults, or families and want a deeper way to understand what is driving behaviour, symptoms, dysregulation, and relational patterns.
You've seen anxiety, trauma responses, shutdown, reactivity, neurodivergence, family conflict, or identity struggles overlap in ways that make formulation feel fragmented.
You want to move beyond surface-level symptom reduction and better understand the whole developing mind beneath the presentation.
You're looking for a framework that connects attachment, temperament, emotion, neuroplasticity, identity, and the therapeutic relationship into one coherent clinical picture.
You want language you can use with parents, families, schools, teams, and young clients to explain why relational, reflective, regulation-focused work matters.
You already value attachment-, trauma-, or neuroscience-informed work — but want to learn the larger relational framework directly from Dr. Dan Siegel.
You're craving the time, space, and depth to step away from daily clinical demands and immerse yourself in meaningful professional growth — in Milan or online.

Ideal for psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, physicians, educators, child development professionals, and other mental health or helping professionals who support children, adolescents, young adults, parents, or families.

Discover the Relational Mind

What changes after this workshop?

You leave with a clearer way to understand what is happening beneath the surface of a young client's behaviour, symptoms, relationships, and sense of self.

Instead of seeing dysregulation, anxiety, shutdown, reactivity, identity struggles, or family conflict as isolated clinical problems, you'll begin to see how they may reflect the developing mind's attempt to organise, adapt, and seek integration within the context of relationships.

That shift changes your work.

Assessment

becomes less fragmented.

Formulation

becomes more connected.

Treatment Planning

becomes more grounded.

And the therapeutic relationship becomes more than a supportive backdrop — it becomes a central space where integration, resilience, identity, and emotional regulation can begin to develop.

Before

You may sense there is more happening beneath the symptoms, but struggle to connect attachment, temperament, trauma, emotion, family context, and identity into one coherent clinical picture.

After

You'll have a relational, neuroscience-informed framework for understanding the whole developing mind — and for responding with greater clarity, confidence, and clinical purpose.

How Does It Work?

Where contemporary neuroscience meets real clinical work.

You'll join Dr. Dan Siegel either in-person in Milan, Italy or online from any location for his 2-day workshop. But you won't just be a passive observer.

Each day is focused on helping you develop your understanding of Dr. Siegel's "Relational Mind" model through interactive participation, case examples, and opportunities for shared reflection.

Across two immersive days, you'll explore the developing mind through the lens of neuroscience, attachment, temperament, emotion, identity, and therapeutic relationship — so you can move beyond symptom-focused work and support deeper integration, resilience, and growth in children and young people.

Here's a brief snapshot of what you'll explore during your time with Dan:

01

The relational mind: Understand how the mind develops within the embodied brain, in relationship, and across the lifespan from childhood and adolescence into adulthood.

02

Mental health and integration: Explore Dr. Siegel's framework for mental wellbeing, including how chaos and rigidity can signal impaired integration in young people.

03

Attachment, temperament, and personality: Examine how early relationships and temperament shape personality development, identity, selfhood, and the therapeutic process.

04

Emotion, regulation, and embodied experience: Deepen your understanding of emotion regulation, interpersonal connection, and the embodied processes that influence development and healing.

05

Neuroplasticity and therapeutic change: Learn how psychotherapy, attention, awareness, and intention can support neural integration during childhood and adolescence.

06

The power of the therapeutic relationship: Explore how attunement, relationship, and presence can support integration within the individual and strengthen clinical outcomes.

07

Resilience and post-traumatic growth: Discover how psychotherapy can help children and adolescents move towards greater flexibility, coherence, resilience, and growth after adversity.

08

Parents, families, and secure attachment: Consider how clinicians can support parents and young people in moving towards greater attachment security.

09

Transitions across development: Understand what the movement from childhood to adolescence to adulthood can teach us about psychotherapy and the developing mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before you book. Still have a question? Contact Us and speak to one of our team directly.

Is this workshop practical, or mostly theoretical?

This workshop is grounded in science, but it is designed to change how you understand and respond to young clients in the therapy room. Dr. Siegel will help you connect neuroscience, attachment, temperament, emotion regulation, identity, and the therapeutic relationship so you can strengthen assessment, formulation, treatment planning, and clinical conversations with children, adolescents, parents, families, and teams.

Do I need previous experience with Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindsight, or Dr. Siegel's work?

No. You do not need prior training in Dr. Siegel's work to benefit from this workshop. The two days will introduce and develop the core ideas clearly, while still offering depth for clinicians who are already familiar with Interpersonal Neurobiology, Mindsight, the Window of Tolerance, or the whole-brain approach.

I already use attachment-, trauma-, or neuroscience-informed approaches. What will this add?

This workshop helps you bring those threads together. Rather than adding one more separate model, Dr. Siegel's relational framework helps you understand how attachment, temperament, trauma, emotion regulation, identity, neuroplasticity, and the therapeutic relationship interact within the developing mind.

What types of clients or clinical presentations is this most relevant for?

This training is especially relevant if you work with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, or families where anxiety, emotional dysregulation, trauma responses, neurodivergence, shutdown, reactivity, attachment difficulties, family conflict, or identity struggles overlap. The focus is on understanding the whole developing mind beneath the presenting symptoms.

Will this help me explain the work to parents, families, schools, or teams?

Yes. One of the practical benefits of this workshop is developing clearer language for explaining why relational, reflective, regulation-focused, and attachment-informed work matters. You'll strengthen the way you talk about the developing brain, emotional regulation, identity, resilience, and therapeutic change with the people surrounding a young client.

Can I attend online if I can't travel to Milan?

Yes. You can join the workshop online from any location and still participate in the live training experience with Dr. Siegel. Register for the live webinar here.

Will recordings be available?

Yes. Online attendees receive 30-day access to the workshop recordings, so you can revisit the material after the live event.

Are credit hours included?

Yes. You can earn up to 14.5 credit hours by attending this workshop live or watching the post-workshop recording.

What language will the workshop be taught in?

The workshop will be delivered in English. Italian translation is available.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The Ciro Menotti Theatre is wheelchair accessible. If you have additional accessibility requirements, please contact the event team ahead of time so arrangements can be discussed.

Are in-person seats limited?

Yes. In-person attendance is limited by venue capacity, and early registration is recommended if you want to attend live in Milan.
